Acknowledgements

While I have spent years on this project, I had a lot of help. I want to be sure to thank a number of people.

  • Carolynn, my wife, edited the content over many years, and encouraged me to undertake and spend time on this project.

  • Diane was very interested in maintaining family ties, and was supportive of my research. She helped edit my written material.

  • Ron suggested building a website as an alternative to publishing a book. He used his computer skill and experience to design the website, upload and edit content, and to help me to think about presentation issues.

  • Joe Friedman wrote the first family tree, and wrote A Biography of My Father Morris Friedman.

  • Nevet Basker created an extended family tree, and continues to do family research.

  • My sister Carolyn and Joe Friedman interviewed Sy Maltzer.

  • Carolyn, my sister, interviewed, recorded, and transcribed conversations with our mother Sarah.

  • Many relatives sent me pictures and information when I asked for them, especially MaryAnn Friedman’s pictures from the annual family picnics.

  • Judy Friedman Briskin, and Judy’s assistant Suzi provided important information and pictures.

  • Sol Friedman published Sol Friedman Oral History.

  • Roberta Cohn nee Pinsler, my sister in law helped me on the “Jack Pinsler” page. She contributed much of the historical information, and she helped with the writing and editing. I appreciate her assistance.

  • Deborah Friedman helped us plan our visit to Kopaigerod in Ukraine. She sent me family information for our trip and for this website. She created and is the Coordinator of the Kahila page for Kopaigerod at JewishGen.org. Deborah is also the creator of her family history and genealogy website at https://www.friedmangene.com/
